The instructions are decent, and a fumbler like me managed it just fine. My drop-down distance was uncertain and I found I needed to add an extension to the support tubing. The extension wasn't as good a buy as the unit, but at least it was available. The extension worked fine and I'm content. As it IS adjustable, the connections rely on friction-fitting with mounting screws, as many others do. It's probably ok as is, but I added a braided cable wrap from the base to the ceiling as a safety net. Also, with a total of three pieces the support doesn't resist torque very well - it twists ...
